EVP stands for "Electronic Voice Phenomenon" which means the investigator asks a question, pauses and waits for a few moments hoping to get a reply. When they roll back the tape or digital recorder and there is an answer there that was not heard with the own ears but picked up by the divice, is an EVP.
On the same token, if a question is asked and the investigator hears an autible answer with their own ear, then that is NOT classified as an EVP, but rather a "Disembodied Voice".
On this page you will hear a range of EVPS from "Class A" (which is the best, easily discernable needing little or no background noise reduction, to "Class B" which generally requires some clean up to understand, to "Class see" which might be a very lite whisper, or need alot of clean up to make out what is being said.
These are but a few of the many we have, I hope you will enjoy ;^)
Tracey was doing an EVP session in the master bedroom, I (Rita) was doing one in the diningroom - Tracey called me later that night and played this recording for me "Can you tell us your name?" GO ASK RITA was the reply, so she got back on the phone with me "So I'm asking you, what are there names?" I didn't have a clue!
At a training excercise at Temple Baptist Church on Hyw. 40 between Kingsland and Folkston GA, we were trying to make contact at a grave that gave off a funky vibe. We made note that the person buried there was named Joseph, age 19. Not far from Joseph was a young woman, also 19 and same date of death. We thought they may have died in a car accident together. We started talking to him, and our K-2 meter started going off.
With my digital recorder on, you will here me say "Use our energy" and right after that you here a male voice say "I DON'T KNOW HOW"... a few more seconds pass and you here a female voice whisper "Joseph, it's me!"
WLAY Radio Station in Alabama called in SPRS to do an investigation. Prior history of this building includes, the down stairs was used as a Morgue. It also was a Civial War Hospital. While doing an EVP session in the basement, I asked "Who's in the Morgue?" There is an immediate response by two completely differnt voices. THe first reply sounds like a woman with a possible accent (maybe Irish?) saying "Takin pictures in the kitchen, the kitchen kitchen" and right after that you hear in an altogether differn't voice "We are fighting for our freedom"!
We filmed at a home in Orlando Florida that the releaste company called us about. A family bought the house and left within 30 days claiming all sorts of paranormal activity, leaving all their possessions behind. They wanted us to do an investigation and see if there was any truth to their claims before relisting the house.
We caught several EVP's, several unexplained photos and two investigators were scratched. In this EVP, you can clearly hear a creepy laugh as our equipment rolled when the house was empty.
At the Florida House Inn on Amelia Island, FL., SPRS was doing an investigation. Members Reen and Nicole were in the "Madam's" room where she was allegedly shot and killed, alone doing an EVP session. There were no males with them in the room when they caught this EVP of a man asking "Take a picture of the corpse?"
