The Ritz Theatre is located at 313 Pendleton Stret, Waycross, GA.
A functioning live theatre that dates back to the early 1900's - It opened June 1913, as a vaudeville, opera and live performance theater under the management of Fred Brewer.In 1917, its name was changed to the Orpheum Theatre, and continued to be used for vaudeville and live performance. Many big named talents performed on this stage throughout the decades.
In 1935, extensive interior and exterior renovations were made by noted Jacksonville, Florida Art Deco architect Roy A. Benjamin. The theater was renamed the Ritz Theatre and and is noted as “South Georgia’s finest theatre” and pledges to run first run films only. It continued as a movie theater until 1977.

In 1986, the Ritz again returned to the performance arts when Waycross Area Community Theatre purchased the building for live community theater productions.

Case Manager Reen spoke with Roger at length about what was going on in that Theatre and SPRS did two investiations there over a two year period. Our first investigation was on March 26th, 2011 and the second investigation took place Oct. 27th, 2012.
The claims of activity ranged from:
1.) Lights going on and off by themselves
2.) Full apparitions sen in the clothing room
3.) A dark shadow was often reported in the prop room
4.) Shadows in the dressing rooms and under stage area, also lights going on and off there
5.) People walking across the stage when no one else is in the building
6.) a dark shadow is often reported on the cat walk
